About Us

Founded in 1974, the North County Rape Crisis and Child Protection Center began as a vital lifeline for individuals in crisis in Lompoc. Over the years, the Center has grown to serve all of northern Santa Barbara County, providing compassionate support, advocacy, and prevention education to individuals and families in need.

With offices in both Lompoc and Santa Maria, we offer 24-hour crisis intervention services alongside a comprehensive education and prevention program focused on building safer communities. Our programs include:

• ChildSAFE Program – Personal safety education for kindergarten through 9th-grade students in local schools

• Word on the Street – Human trafficking prevention education for at-risk youth

• Good Touch/Bad Touch Puppet Shows – Age-appropriate safety education for preschoolers

• Self-Defense & Sexual Harassment Prevention – Empowerment and awareness training

• Teen Dating Violence Prevention & Mandated Reporter Training – Education for students and professionals

• Human Trafficking Awareness Training

These programs—and many others—are designed to equip our community with the knowledge, skills, and resources to prevent abuse while ensuring survivors have access to critical support services.
